Today is Anant Chaturdashi and we'll have to say Good Bye to Lord Ganesh.
Bidding farewell to our beloved Ganpati Bappa always brings mixed sentiments to me. At one side, celebrations are made to make immersion of the idol and on the other side we have to cope up with the emptiness following it.
This period of 10 days from Ganesh Chaturthi to Anant Chaturdashi is very auspicious and refreshing for us. Daily rituals & aartis has a soothing effect on our mind. It encourages us to think positively in any situation. Ganpati is considered as to be the god of wisdom, prudence and prosperity. He is Vighnaharta, means he protects us from any hurdles in our life.
Ganpati is god of success and hence he is loved by all religions. People worship him and invoke his name before undertaking any venture. Ganesh is also looked upon as the god of good harvest and hence after his immersion, clay is brought from the waterside and sprinkled on farms and in storerooms for luck & for a good harvest in future.
The worship of this god has been followed right from the vedic times. The worship of Lord Ganesh has also spread to Java, Nepal, Cambodia, Tibet, Thailand, Vietnam and Sri Lanka where he is considered as a guardian and savior of mankind from ghosts and demons.
Today we'll have to immerse the idol of lord ganesh but his love and blessings would be with us forever, helping us to get success in our respective ventures & protecting us from any obstacles.
Say "Ganpati Bappa Mourya, Pudhchya Varshi Lavkar Ya" (Glorify him and ask him to come soon next year).
